About Clow - Environmental Stewardship   Clow Water Systems leads the way in environmental protection. Recent projects include the RingJet Scrubber, water-based paint conversion, use of environmentally-friendly synthetic gas to replace over 75% of our natural gas consumption and environmentally-friendly product substitution. The RingJet scrubber was installed in 1999. An add-on to our existing scrubber, this installation was the first of its kind in the United States. This allowed us to achieve MACT level particulate levels, seven years before legislation required. A conversion to water-based paint eliminated literally hundreds of tons of volatile organic compounds from being released to the environment every year. Recently, Clow has partnered with Intrinergy, LLC to convert the majority of our natural gas consumption over to a synthetic gas derived from scrap automobile tires. Again, this will be a first for the iron pipe industry and the United States.
